Mic Test

Check that your microphone works — live meter plus a quick record-and-play-back.

Also searched as: microphone test · samsung mic test code · mic check

Tap Start, allow the microphone, then speak.

How to test your microphone

  1. Tap Start test and allow microphone access when the browser asks.
  2. Speak normally — the meter should move with your voice.
  3. Tap Record 5s & play back to hear exactly how you sound to others.

Mic not working?

Audio stays in your browser. Nothing is recorded or uploaded — the playback clip is deleted when you leave the page.

Step-by-step: before an online interview

  1. Plug in your headset or earphones first, then tap Start test and allow microphone access when the browser asks.
  2. Speak at normal volume — the level bar should reach the green zone and fall back when you stop; if it stays flat, the wrong device is selected.
  3. Tap Record 5 s & play back and listen: is there echo, hum, keyboard noise or crackling?
  4. Fix what you hear (see below), re-test, then run the same check inside Zoom/Teams/Google Meet settings.

Tips and common mistakes

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't the meter move?

Check that the browser has microphone permission (padlock icon in the address bar) and that the correct input device is selected in your system sound settings.

Is my voice being recorded?

No. The level meter runs locally, and the optional 5-second playback clip never leaves your device.

Can I test my headset mic for Zoom or interviews?

Yes — select the headset as your system input, run the test, and use playback to hear how you sound.
