| Document | Dimensions | File size | Format |
|---|

Specifications are taken from the latest notification we could verify (see Sources on the
main resizer page). Boards occasionally change limits between cycles — if your form shows a different number, choose
Custom in the list and type it in.
How to use the SSC photo and signature resizer
- Choose SSC photo (already selected) and pick your photo; drag and zoom so the face fills about 75% of the frame with a little space above the head.
- Tap Resize & download — you get a 3.5 × 4.5 cm JPEG (276 × 354 px at 200 DPI) between 20 and 50 KB.
- Switch the list to SSC signature, choose the photo of your signature; the tool fits it on white and outputs 4.0 × 2.0 cm at 10–20 KB.
- Upload both in the SSC One-Time Registration (OTR) at ssc.gov.in; the portal shows a preview — accept only if the whole face/signature is visible.
Why uploads get rejected — and the fix
| Rejection reason | Fix |
|---|
| 'Photo size should be between 20 KB and 50 KB' | The tool pads or compresses to land inside the range; if you edited the file afterwards, resize again from the original |
| 'Image dimensions not as per specification' | The portal checks the 3.5 × 4.5 cm ratio (7:9); use the preset, not a free crop |
| Photo rejected at verification for cap, glasses or dark background | Retake against a white wall in daylight; SSC rejects photos with sunglasses or head cover (religious headwear allowed if the face is clear) |
| Signature in capital letters | SSC's instructions require your usual running signature — sign as on your documents |
| Blurred signature after resizing | Photograph the signature closer and in focus; a 4 × 2 cm box at 200 DPI is only 315 × 157 px, so start sharp |
SSC exams this applies to
SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level), CHSL (10+2), MTS and Havaldar, GD Constable, Stenographer Grade C & D, Junior Engineer, Selection Post phases, Delhi Police constable and head constable recruitments conducted by SSC, and JHT. All use the same OTR photo and signature.
Tips and common mistakes
- Keep the original high-resolution photo; make a fresh resized copy for every form — do not resize an already-resized file.
- A plain white or light background, face straight to the camera, no cap or dark glasses, and 70–80% of the frame filled by the face is accepted by every board.
- Photograph the signature in daylight on plain white paper with a black pen; choose Signature mode so nothing is cropped off.
- Other forms: IBPS / SBI · PAN card · UPSC · NEET / JEE / CUET · RRB · Passport Seva · EPFO / UAN · all presets.
Frequently asked questions
What is the SSC photo size in KB?
20 KB to 50 KB in JPEG, with dimensions 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm. The tool produces exactly that.
What is the SSC signature size?
4.0 cm wide × 2.0 cm high in JPEG, between 10 KB and 20 KB.
Does SSC still need the name and date printed on the photo?
No. Since the 2024 OTR update, SSC asks for a recent photo without name and date; a live photo is also captured in the form for CGL/CHSL.
Can I use the same photo for SSC and IBPS?
Not the same file — IBPS wants 200 × 230 pixels. Use the IBPS/SBI page with the same original photo.
Is my photo uploaded to Tooly?
No. Resizing happens in your browser; the image never leaves your device.
