Specifications are taken from the latest notification we could verify (see Sources on the main resizer page). Boards occasionally change limits between cycles — if your form shows a different number, choose Custom in the list and type it in.
How to use the EPFO / UAN photo resizer
- Keep EPFO / UAN photo selected, choose the member's (or nominee's) photo and frame the face; download — a 3.5 × 4.5 cm JPEG under 100 KB.
- Repeat for each family member you will add in e-Nomination — spouse, children, parents — one file each.
- Log in at unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in → View → Profile → Change photo, or Manage → e-Nomination → Add family details, and upload.
- For a signature upload, choose Custom (400 × 200 px, max 50 KB) in Signature mode.
Why uploads get rejected — and the fix

Why e-Nomination matters
EPFO requires e-Nomination for online claims (withdrawal, pension, insurance under EDLI). Each nominee needs a photo under 100 KB, and the nomination is signed with Aadhaar OTP, so no form submission to the employer is needed. The same portal photo appears on your UAN card and in claim forms; a clear photo speeds up KYC and claim verification.
Tips and common mistakes
- Keep the original high-resolution photo; make a fresh resized copy for every form — do not resize an already-resized file.
- A plain white or light background, face straight to the camera, no cap or dark glasses, and 70–80% of the frame filled by the face is accepted by every board.
- Photograph the signature in daylight on plain white paper with a black pen; choose Signature mode so nothing is cropped off.
