Custom in the list and type it in.
How to use the RRB photo and signature resizer
- Keep RRB photo selected, choose your photo and frame the face at about half the height with a plain background; download the 3.5 × 4.5 cm JPEG at 30–70 KB.
- Switch to RRB signature, choose the photo of your signature; it is fitted on white at 3.5 × 1.5 cm, 30–70 KB.
- Upload both in the RRB application (rrbapply.gov.in); the preview must show the whole photo and signature.
- Keep the same files for the later CBT stages — RRB verifies the uploaded photo at the exam centre and at document verification.
Why uploads get rejected — and the fix
| Rejection reason | Fix |
|---|
| 'Photo size should be between 30 KB and 70 KB' | Small files from WhatsApp are often under 30 KB — the tool pads them above 30 KB |
| Photo rejected for coloured background or cap | RRB requires a white or light background with no head cover (religious headwear allowed if the face is fully visible) |
| Signature in capital letters | RRB's notice disqualifies capital-letter signatures — use your normal signature |
| Photo older than three months | Retake; the photo must match your appearance at the exam |
| Blurred signature | Photograph the signature closer with good light before using the preset |
RRB exams this applies to
RRB NTPC (graduate and undergraduate), Group D / Level 1, ALP and Technician, Junior Engineer, Paramedical, Ministerial & Isolated categories and RPF constable/SI recruitments through the RRB/RPF portals share the 30–70 KB photo and signature rule. A separate RRC Group D notification may specify the same ranges; always confirm with the CEN notice for your exam.
Tips and common mistakes
- Keep the original high-resolution photo; make a fresh resized copy for every form — do not resize an already-resized file.
- A plain white or light background, face straight to the camera, no cap or dark glasses, and 70–80% of the frame filled by the face is accepted by every board.
- Photograph the signature in daylight on plain white paper with a black pen; choose Signature mode so nothing is cropped off.
- Other forms: SSC · IBPS / SBI · PAN card · UPSC · NEET / JEE / CUET · Passport Seva · EPFO / UAN · all presets.
