Combine your semester SGPAs into an overall CGPA — add credits for the exact credit-weighted value.
How to calculate CGPA from SGPA
- Enter the SGPA of each semester you have completed.
- For the exact answer, also enter each semester's total credits. Leave credits empty for a quick simple average.
- Your CGPA updates instantly, with an approximate percentage.
CGPA formula
CGPA = Σ (SGPA × Semester credits) ÷ Σ Semester credits
If every semester has the same credits, this is the same as the simple average: CGPA = (SGPA₁ + SGPA₂ + … ) ÷ number of semesters.
Example with credits
| Semester | SGPA | Credits | SGPA × Credits |
| Sem 1 | 7.8 | 20 | 156 |
| Sem 2 | 8.2 | 22 | 180.4 |
| Sem 3 | 8.6 | 24 | 206.4 |
| Total | | 66 | 542.8 |
CGPA = 542.8 ÷ 66 = 8.22. A simple average would give 8.20 — close, but the weighted value is the official one.
