How text becomes binary
Every character has a number in the Unicode/ASCII table — A is 65, a is 97, space is 32. The computer stores that number in binary using 8 bits (one byte): A = 01000001, a = 01100001. "Hi" is 01001000 01101001.
ASCII quick table
| Char | Decimal | Binary |
|---|---|---|
| A | 65 | 01000001 |
| B | 66 | 01000010 |
| a | 97 | 01100001 |
| 0 | 48 | 00110000 |
| space | 32 | 00100000 |
| ! | 33 | 00100001 |
Hindi and emoji use UTF-8, which takes 2–4 bytes per character — this converter handles them too. For plain numbers use the binary, decimal, hex converter.
