Base64 encode and decode text
Base64 turns any bytes into 64 safe characters so they can travel inside JSON, URLs, email (MIME), HTTP Basic auth headers and JWT tokens. This tool handles Unicode correctly (Hindi, emoji and other UTF-8 text), supports the URL-safe alphabet used in JWTs, and pads or tolerates missing = when decoding.
Examples
Hello→SGVsbG8=- Basic auth:
user:pass→dXNlcjpwYXNz - A JWT is three Base64-URL parts separated by dots; decode the middle part to read its claims.
