How to calculate salary hike percentage
Hike % = (New salary − Old salary) ÷ Old salary × 100Example: your salary moves from ₹40,000 to ₹46,000 a month. Increase = ₹6,000; 6,000 ÷ 40,000 × 100 = 15% hike. Works the same for monthly salary, annual CTC or in-hand pay — just use the same basis for both numbers.
New salary from a hike percentage
New salary = Old salary × (1 + Hike% ÷ 100)A 12% increment on ₹6,00,000 CTC = 6,00,000 × 1.12 = ₹6,72,000.
What is a good salary hike in India?
Annual increments in most Indian companies are 7–12% for average performers and 15–25% for top ratings. A job switch typically gives 30–60% for 2–5 years' experience. Promotions add another 10–20%. Use the in-hand salary calculator to see what the new CTC means every month.
