Title case rules the tool follows
Small words — a, an, the, and, but, or, for, nor, of, on, in, at, to, by — stay lowercase unless they begin or end the title; the first word after a colon is capitalised; words with internal capitals such as iPhone or UPI are left alone. Sentence case capitalises only the first letter of each sentence and the pronoun 'I'.
Tips and common mistakes
- Government forms (PAN, passport, UIDAI) store names in capitals — convert once rather than retyping and risking a spelling mismatch.
- Converting to lowercase removes nothing: accents, numbers and punctuation are preserved.
- Clean up double spaces and stray line breaks first with the Text Cleaner, then count words for a limit with the Word Counter.
