How to compress an image to 1 MB
- Tap choose a photo and pick one or more images from your phone or computer.
- Pick the target size and, if you like, a maximum width.
- Tap Compress. Each photo is shrunk until it is under the limit, then tap Download.
The tool lowers JPG quality step by step and, only if needed, reduces the pixel size, so the result is as sharp as possible for the file size you asked for. The before/after sizes are shown so you can check the limit of the form you are filling.

Need exact pixel dimensions as well? Use the photo & signature resizer (presets for every major form) or the image resizer. For PDFs, use compress PDF to KB.
Why a photo is bigger than you expect
Phone cameras save 12–50 megapixel images that weigh 3–8 MB. A form only needs a 400–600 pixel photo, so most of that size is wasted. Compressing to 50–100 KB keeps a face perfectly clear on screen and in print at passport size.
